Why Namaslay Lodge

This is the ultimate Southeast Alaska fishing adventure experience where you get to create your own dream itinerary.  When you book a week with us at Namaslay lodge your group is guaranteed to be the only lodge guests for your entire stay.  To ensure you get excellent guiding and attention we only take a maximum of 4 people a week (5 if a family with kids). We want your time with us to be a special and unique as you want to make it. This is a perfect boutique lodge for couples, families and close friends to make memories.

What makes our lodge location so unique is the vast variety of fishing opportunities and non angling opportunities in our back yard for those wanting a personalized Alaskan experience.  We typically will fish the rivers for salmon, steelhead, and trout and the protected ocean waters for rockfish, ling cod, salmon and halibut. We use a variety of techniques depending on the conditions of the day.  For our more adventurous guests we love to boat to remote rivers and hike up to some of the best fishing you will ever experience. You will have rivers and views to yourselves. this is almost impossible to find anywhere in the world anymore!

We love to guide  fly fishers, gear fishers, and non fishers. We have no set hours or set programs and since it is your week, once you book it we can decide together what works best for your interests.  Of course we will always recommend the best options for the tides, time of year and conditions of the day.

Many guests comment that their favorite activity of the week was just sitting by the fire on the deck having a glass of wine and watching the eagles soar by.  Others say it was seeing the amazing whales all around the boat feeding while we were fishing.  That being said, Captain Greg is passionate about all kinds of fishing and will work hard to put you on lots of fish with an enthusiasm you will appreciate.  We catch lots of fish! Namaslay.

You Can Look Forward To At Namaslay Lodge

The beauty of the salt water fishing off of Prince of Wales island is we are never fishing far from shore and the waters are protected. We fish out of our Hewescraft 220 ocean pro which is a fish catching machine aka Namaslay.

Fresh Water Fishing

We have so many different freshwater fishing options whether fly fishing or spin gear fishing. We have a skiff with outboard and an inflatable jet boat that are ideal for getting you up rivers and across lakes to more remote areas.

Non Angling Activities

We are situated in a spectacular setting overlooking the neck river before it flows into the bay. You can see fish jumping and eagles soaring right from our deck.

What People are Saying

Andrea

Our time at Namaslay was nothing short of perfect. From the minute we arrived Greg and Janell made us feel welcomed into their slice of paradise. It didn’t take long for us to be immersed in Alaska beauty straight from the fire pit on their deck with eagles, gorgeous water, and even an occasional bear! Fishing was outstanding and plentiful. We caught halibut, salmon and rockfish with tons of wildlife viewing along the way. The area is diverse with multiple fishing opportunities and Greg goes above and beyond to help you check off your fishing bucket list. Janell is an incredible cook and the food is fresh delicious and local. The cabin was so comfortable that it was hard to leave the cozy bed if only to stumble out to the warm fireplace for fresh coffee we went home with fish to stock the freezer and lifetime memories… Hoping to go back every year!

My co-worker and I spent four days at Namaslay Alaskan Lodge in July, and it was unforgettable! From the moment we arrived, the breathtaking wilderness set the tone for an epic adventure. The highlight? Catching beautiful salmon and halibut and rockfish every day felt like a triumph. Our guide Greg was beyond incredible, blending expert knowledge with genuine enthusiasm ensuring every cast was a thrill. The lodge itself was cozy, the meals tasty, and the camaraderie unmatched. Reeling in such trophy fish in pristine Alaskan waters was a dream come true. We ended up with boxes of fish each to take home! This wasn’t just a fishing trip. It was a once in a lifetime experience. I can’t wait to go back!
